"The earth laughs in flowers" or - flower crazy cards

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "The earth laughs in flowers."  Spring comes slowly here, so I had to find my own flowers to make me smile.

I got a new stamp set from Stampin' Up called Flower Shop and the punch that goes with it and started making cards. The cards made me so happy, that I want to share them with you. Of course I got my inspiration from Pinterest. Click on a picture to see my inspiration.

These last few cards are my own designs, so no links.

I hope these flower cards inspire you and make you happy.

Stamping Time

During the last couple of weeks I've really gotten back into making cards. I brought a lot of my supplies upstairs, where it's warmer and where I can watch HGTV while I work. My daughter and her family came up one weekend and asked if we could make cards. She suggested that we use some of our washi tape for decorations. My final bit of inspiration is Pinterest. I am hooked on it. I can search for cards by using the name of the stamp set I want to use and get all kinds of inspiration.
So here are some of the cards I've made recently. You can click on the card to see my inspiration from Pinterest, if there is a specific one.

"Sheltering Tree" stamp set from Stampin' Up. The blue with white polka dots is paper.

Same stamp set but the black and white polka dots is a piece of  washi tape.

The bird is from the "A Happy Thing" stamp set by Stampin' Up.
The words are a stamp by The Last Word.

"Big Day" stamp set by Stampin' Up.

The cake and "Happy Birthday" stamps are also from "Big Day" set by Stampin' Up. The diagonal striped prints are from 3 different rolls of washi tape.

"So Many Scallops" stamp set by Stampin' Up.

"Celebrate Today" stamp set by Stampin' Up plus washi tape.

"Best Day Ever" stamp set by Stampin' Up.

"Morning Cup" stamp set - Stampin' Up.

"Thoughts and Prayers" stamp set by Stampin' Up.

"Lotus Blossom" stamp set - Stampin' Up.

"A Happy Thing" stamp set - Stampin' Up.

The tree is a stamp from Northwoods Rubber. The words are a stamp by Hero Arts.

The rest of these cards feature washi tape.

("Just a Note" is a Stampin' Up stamp.)

("You make me smile" is stamp by J Denami Design.)

("Happy Birthday" is a stamp by imaginations.)

(This cute little bird is from a Stampin' Up set called "Happy Together")

(This phrase is a stamp from the set called "Heard From the Heart" by Stampin' Up.)

I am having so much fun creating cards again. I hope I inspired you to get crafty too!

Quick Card Making

Yesterday I wanted to make some cards. I went back to my board on Pinterest and found a card I wanted to try to make - but I decided right from the beginning to make more than one of the same style. So I picked out paper for 5 cards - first I cut the two background papers. Then I punched out the stars with a punch from Creative Memories. I picked out cardstock for the card, and I found stamps with sayings that would fit on the card. I assembled all five cards, and then got out my box of embellishments and found some buttons and gems to put in the centers of the star. After attaching them, I was done. I know that making 5 cards of the same design took way less time than making five different cards... and it was fun to make them each unique with my choices of papers, stamps and embellishments. Stampin' Time

The hot weather we've been having has been good for me - because it has driven me downstairs to my craft room where it is cooler. It's been a while since I've felt like crafting, but now that I've begun, I don't want to stop!

I've been having fun looking on Pinterest for card ideas to use as inspiration, and then even more fun creating my own cards.

If you click on each picture you will see one of my inspiration pins for each card. Of course, there were lots more. You just have to love Pinterest!

Valentine's Cards 2014

I love Valentine's Day. I know that it's a commercial holiday - created so that card companies, florists, candy stores, etc. can sell more stuff. But, in the end, it's a celebration about love - and God is love.... and He commands us to love others. So Valentine's Day is a perfect day to share His love.

I finally found some time and motivation to get back into making cards. It was so much fun, that I can't wait to make more.

Here are some cards I've created this year for Valentine's Day.

Here is the inside of the card.... the rest of the cards just say "Happy Valentine's Day" on the inside

All the supplies other than the stamps are from Stampin' Up.

More Stamping Fun

It seems like about once a month I really get the urge to make some cards - and I spend a couple of evenings in my craft room stamping. After a while it gets harder to be creative, and so I wander away. This happens with other craft projects as well, and soon I find I have a whole box of half finished projects. Does that ever happen to you?
This week I have been back in "stamping mode" - so here are my newest cards. Maybe they will inspire you to make some of your own. I'd love to see what you are creating! (Leave me a comment and I will visit your blog!)

(The tulip is made from the owl punch and a circle punch. I watched Valita's video tutorial to learn how to make it.)

I get a lot of inspiration from Split Coast Stampers. This website has lots of tutorials, project ideas and cards. You can even look up ideas by stamp set name. Check it out sometime!
