frame projects

I have been working on a couple of frame projects lately. I purchased the three square frames at Michael's for $1 each. This silver frame is finished, except for putting a picture in it. I painted it silver, sprayed it with a clear acrylic finish and added the flower.

This second frame has two coats of Martha Stewart's purple paint on it. The bottle says that this paint is glossy - but there isn't much shine yet. I think I'll try one more coat of paint before embellishing the frame.

For the third frame I decided to go back to decoupage. I picked out 4 coordinating scrapbook papers, cut them in strips and used Mod Podge to glue them to the frame. On the end pieces I used my corner rounder from Creative Memories to round the corners since the frame has rounded corners.
After the pieces were glued on and dried, I gave the whole thing two coats of Mod Podge. After it dries I plan to add a word using stickers, and then I will spray the whole frame with clear acrylic. I also have a big green flower to add.

This final frame project is different than the others.
My daughter brought home this wood carving from Guatemala. After it fell off a shelf and broke in half, my husband glued it together and suggested that I frame it.
So I spray painted an old frame brown. Then I picked out a piece of cardstock for the back. I glued it to a piece of chipboard to make it stiffer. I glued the carving to the cardstock with E6000 glue. Then I glued the cardstock(chipboard) to the frame.
All that's left is to find a place to display it :)

Great ideas! i love the framed "Jesus". I have that same cross as well as several of our friends. I think most of them have said that they have broken. This is a great idea to keep it from breaking! Thanks!!
