My first sweater

My grandson, Micah, is coming this week for a visit - all the way from Guatemala. Of course my daughter is coming too - since Micah is only 3 1/2 months old, a bit too young to travel alone.
I have been crocheting a sweater for him since February, and I finally finished it. It's the first sweater - actually, the first piece of clothing other than a hat, that I've ever made.

I am pretty happy with the way it turned out, and I hope he likes it. I guess it will be more important that my daughter likes it... I hope it keeps him warm.

My success with the sweater spurs me on to other projects. Maybe I'll have to make something for my granddaughter next. Do you have any suggestions for a cute, easy project to crochet for an 8 year old girl?
