Kasson Truck Schow

Last Saturday Craig and I went to the Big IronClassic Truck Show in Kasson, MN. This was the 8th year of the show and every year it gets bigger and bigger. Craig did not take his truck down this year - we just drove our Ford Explorer down for the day. We could not believe our eyes. There were over 600 hundred trucks this year!
The Big Iron Classic was started 8 years ago as a show where truckers could bring their rigs, dents, dirt and all, and just get together. They swapped stories and ideas for decking out their rigs. They did a parade through the little town of Kasson, and ended the weekend with a truck pull. There was no cost to enter their trucks in the show, and no admission for other truck lovers to come and see all the rigs.
This year we saw many truckers out polishng their rigs, and professional polishers were also in attendance. There is still no cost for the trucks - they are just asked to bring a toy for Toys for Tots - and no admission fee.
We saw a lot of beautiful trucks - but there were almost too many to look at, and they were parked so close together that it was hard to appreciate the details. It felt much more like being at the State Fair or Back to the Fifties Weekend.
One highlight was getting to see the guys from the Chrome Shop Mafia in person. But my favorite part of all was just spending the beautiful day walking hand in hand with my husband!
