Wonderful Wednesday

I know today is Thursday - but I want to tell you about yesterday - wonderful Wednesday. . .
Carrie, my daughter, met me at work and we went out to do a little shopping at Kohl's (I had a 20% off coupon). Then we had supper at Arby's (I had coupons for 99 cent sandwiches, fries, and shakes). After that we met a group of people from New Joy Church at FMSC. FMSC stands for Feed My Starving Children. It is a Christian organization that has groups of people come in and package food which is then sent around the world to feed children who are starving. The evening started off with a video presentation about the importance of the work. Did you know that every day over 18,000 children die from starvation? After the video we started packing food. The packets contain rice, degydrated vegetables, soy, chicken flavoring, and the daily requirement of vitamins. Besides the group from New Joy there were two other groups helping as well. In 45 minutes we packaged enough food to feed almost 5000 people. After we cleaned up we were given the opportunity to taste the food, and then we prayed over the boxes we had packaged. It was an amazing evening - how such a short time in my day could have a great impact. It also made me stop to think about how I spend my money, and how I sometimes complain about not having anything to eat. I do not have anything to complain about!!!
