August-the end of summer

Today I took my brother and his family down to a motel by the airport. They fly home the day after tomorrow so they're spending the last day at the motel where they can swim and do some last day shopping nearby. The motel has an airport shuttle, which is good for me since they have to be at the airport by 4:30 AM!
I can't believe that their visit is over. They've been here for two weeks, but the time went by so quickly. I sure wish they lived closer so that we could get together more often than once every two years. I would love to have my sister-in-law close so that we could go shopping together, help each other, meet for lunch etc. It would be nice to have the whole family here for holidays.
Since it is not to be, I will remember the fun we had while they were visiting.
So now it feels like summer is over. At the beginning of June I was looking forward to visits from my daughter and her boyfriend, and my brother and his family. Now those visits are over, and there's nothing left to look forward to - except the State Fair!
Just another reminder that we need to enjoy each moment to the fullest.
